Regardless of the type chosen, Japan Koi Siess assumes 100% of the shipping risk.
In other words, if our koi are unexpectedly damaged during shipping with our transport company or with our personal delivery service, we assume full responsibility for the damage.


As in previous years, this season it is again possible to ship our koi to Germany and within Austria.
In order to keep shipping costs as low as possible for you, JAPAN KOI SIESS covers part of the actual costs for its customers.

Is it safe to ship koi through a shipping company?
We can clearly answer this question with “yes”.

Since both the well-being of our fish and satisfied customers are our top priority, we take absolutely no risks when shipping our koi.
Our partner when it comes to koi shipping is one of the few companies that has all the necessary permits for the transport of live animals. This company only ships using courier services whose drivers are specifically trained to transport live animals.
All Koi and the transport boxes are moved exclusively by hand, so there is no risk of a package "flying" over a conveyor belt.
We can assure you that we look very closely at the partners we work with.

On which days is Koi shipping possible?
We ship with our partner Koi on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

In order to keep the transport time as short as possible, we personally bring our koi to the shipping company on the evening of the shipping day.
The animals will be delivered to you the next day between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m
This means that delivery days for you are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in the morning between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m.

When planning your shipping time, please note that we need at least a lead time of 5 to 7 days in order to optimally prepare the animals for transport.
Live animal shipments cannot be made before or on public holidays.
If you would like other delivery times or days, e.g. on weekends, in the evening or on public holidays, we recommend our PERSONAL DELIVERY SERVICE.

Is it possible to ship koi all year round?
No, the shipping of Koi also depends on the prevailing weather conditions.

If the outside temperatures are particularly low or particularly high, we refrain from shipping out of consideration for the animals.
If you still want Koi to be delivered under these conditions, we recommend our PERSONAL DELIVERY SERVICE .

What should you consider when taking over the Koi?
All koi have undergone a detailed quarantine with us including all necessary tests and examinations. The animals only leave our facility after the quarantine has been completed and they have been released by our veterinarian who specializes in Koi.
Nevertheless, we recommend - and not just for legal reasons - that our customers carry out their own quarantine again.
Information on quarantine and unpacking and moving the koi is included separately in each box in written form.

What customer requirements are necessary for shipping Koi?
The Koi, including shipping costs, must be paid in full and the invoice amount must be credited to our account. A suitable person to take delivery of the koi must be present at the delivery address on the day of delivery.
The recipient of the koi must be reachable by telephone on the day of delivery.
The telephone number at which the recipient of the koi must be reachable on the day of delivery must be provided to us in writing in advance.

To which countries does JAPAN KOI SIESS ship its koi?
We are currently shipping our Koi to Germany and within Austria.

How are the Koi packaged for shipping?
When koi come from Japan, they can travel for 30 to 40 hours without the animals being harmed.
Just as carefully as the animals come to us by plane from Japan, we pack our koi just as carefully for transport to you.
The fish are prepared for transport for us. Among other things, we ensure that the intestines are emptied so that the transport water is not contaminated. The fish are then packed in at least 2 extra strong koi transport bags which are filled with water and pure oxygen in a certain ratio. These bags are then packed in boxes specifically designed for koi transport.
Our boxes also contain a few other safety precautions such as waterproof inserts, etc.

How many koi can be packed in a box?
This depends on the one hand on the size and on the other hand on the respective variety.
It may be that we can pack 5 koi or even more into a box, but it may also be that only one koi makes its way to you in a box.
We never get involved in experiments; we always make decisions for the good of the koi.

How much does it cost to ship the Koi?
In order to keep shipping costs as low as possible for you, as already mentioned at the beginning, we will cover part of the actual costs for you.

The current costs for shipping Koi to Germany and within Austria for our customers are usually 79.00 euros per box.

With “personal delivery” by us, it is possible to hand over the purchased Koi directly to you at the location and at an agreed time.
We can deliver 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.
No matter whether it's 2 a.m. or 3 p.m. in the afternoon. Regardless of whether it is a weekday, a weekend or a public holiday, we will cater to your needs.
The location you choose can be your pond, your workplace or just as easily an agreed meeting point halfway.

Minus 20°C or +40°C outside temperature, not a problem for our koi or us. Thanks to our fully air-conditioned delivery vehicle, which is specially designed for koi transport, there are no limits to transport.
Another very big advantage of our personal delivery service is the fact that we can reduce transport times and routes to a minimum for the benefit of the animals!
In other words, your koi comes directly to you immediately after packaging in our sales facility.
When making your appointment, please only allow at least 5 days for our koi to prepare for transport.
Delivery costs only apply once per personal delivery, regardless of how many koi/boxes you have purchased.

The prerequisite for “personal delivery” by us is that the koi and the delivery costs have been paid in full in advance and personal pick-up by a suitable person at the agreed time and place is ensured.
We also require a telephone number in advance at which the person who will take over the animals can be reached on the day of delivery.

Of course, all fish can also be picked up from us personally after making an appointment in advance!
